Working reasons of crawler crane idler:
The working principle of crawler crane idler is as follows: use a grease gun to inject grease into the grease cylinder through the grease nozzle, so that the piston extends outward to push the tension spring, so that the guide wheel moves left to tighten the crawler track. The tension spring has an appropriate stroke. When the tension force is too large, the spring is compressed to play a buffering role; after the excessive tension force disappears, the compressed spring pushes the crawler crane idler to its original position, so that it can slide along the crawler frame to change the wheelbase, ensure the disassembly and assembly of the crawler track, reduce the impact of the walking process, and avoid the derailment of the track chain.
The main reasons are as follows:
1. The different axiality of the bimetal sleeve sliding bearing of the crawler crane idler is out of tolerance, and the crawler track travel produces vibration and impact. Once the geometric size is out of tolerance, the gap between the crawler crane idler shaft and the sleeve is too small or there is no gap, and the lubricating oil film thickness is not enough or even no lubricating oil film.
2. The surface roughness of the crawler crane idlershaft is out of tolerance. There are many metal ridges on the surface of the shaft, which destroys the integrity and continuity of the lubricating oil film between the shaft and the sliding bearing. During operation, a large amount of metal grinding chips will be generated in the lubricating oil, which will increase the roughness of the shaft and bearing surface, and the lubrication state will deteriorate, causing serious wear of the crawler crane idler shaft and sliding bearing.
3. The original structure has defects. The lubricating oil is injected from the screw plug hole at the end of the crawler crane idler shaft, and then gradually fills the entire cavity. In actual operation, if there is no special oil filling tool, the lubricating oil is difficult to pass through the tortuous cavity in the crawler crane idler under the action of its own gravity, and the gas in the cavity is not discharged smoothly, and the lubricating oil is difficult to fill. The original machine cavity filling space is too small, resulting in a serious lack of lubricating oil.
4. The lubricating oil in the gap between the crawler crane idlershaft and the sleeve cannot take away the heat generated by the bearing work because there is no oil channel, which causes the working temperature of the bearing to increase, the viscosity of the lubricating oil to decrease, and the thickness of the lubricating oil film to decrease.
Methods for replacing crawler crane idler:
1. Remove the crawler on the crawler crane first. Remove a one-way valve at the grease nipple and release the grease inside. Huayang Heavy Industry recommends using a bucket to push the crawler crane idler inward to make the crawler track as loose as possible. Remember to remove the one-way valve, otherwise it will be difficult to remove the crawler track, let alone install it.
2. Install the crawler crane idler. The installation of the crawler crane idler is the same as the general wheel installation method. Use a jack to lift the crawler track, then unscrew the screws with a screwdriver, remove it, install the new wheel, apply lubricating oil, and the installation is complete.
